  1. Hi, I have started using PlasticSCM yesterday after years of using Git for my projects. I started with a project that was already started, added Plastic and checkedin the whole project. So far, so good. Today, I get my partner to add the project to their computer, this seems to work except for a long list of 'Deleted Items'. These deleted items can not be undone. Once the undo command is clicked they come back (to the deleted files section) immediately. Through the windows File Explorer, I tried to recreate or copy these files from my previous git project, but they are immediately destroyed. I tried fetching the project on my own computer, and the same files have been deleted. So we might have a 100% repro here. So I would expect there to be zero local changes when fetching a new project, but seeing deleted files is really weird. As a note, these deleted files include scripts which is now making it impossible to finish opening Unity. We are using Unity 2022.1.16f1 with Plastic plugin version 1.17.16. Thank you for helping, and if you need more info, please ask.
  2. Hey, I am having several issues with uninstalling Plastic SCM from my Windows PC. 1# Every time I attempt to use the Add/Remove feature it presents the following error: "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program FIles\PlasticSCM5\uninstall.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." (In fact, at the moment it is stuck on that error and the only way I can fix it is by restarting my computer) 2# Plastic is constantly running in the background in the form of three processes on my Task Manager: One is Plastic SCM (taking up 12.1 MB), the second is Plastic SCM (named the same as the other, and taking up 3.6 MB), and the third is plasticd (taking up 38.1 MB). It seems that these processes running in the background prevent me from deleting Plastic's main folder on my computer, and no matter how many times I "end task them", they keep coming back up. 3# Is that Plastic's own uninstall application is not appearing to me as an application at all but a .dat file which seemingly cannot be read or launched by anything on my computer. (and yes, I have supposedly installed the shell executable or whatever it is called that comes optional with Plastic). I have attempted to look up to see if others have had similar issues with the uninstall process, and I did come across one forum post in which an administrator by the name of Manu recommended installing Plastic again (presumably replacing the previous install) and then attempting to uninstall using the uninstall.exe, but as I stated, that's not working for me at all. How do I get this off my system? And for reference, this is where I installed my version of Plastic SCM: https://www.plasticscm.com/download Also, here was the previous forum post I mentioned earlier:
  3. I have been attempting to check in files using Plastic SCM and have been faced with many errors. The first error I ran into is the first image, which I resolved by adding a "<FIPSCompliant>true</FIPSCompliant>" line to the server.conf file and the client.conf file in Plastic's program data. After this, I ran into the error in the second image, which I have not yet been able to resolve. I have tried relogging, checking credentials, updating Plastic, creating a new repository, changing some firewall permissions for Plastic, and trying different files to checkin, but nothing has worked. Any advice?
  4. So I have a Unity project that I have been working on for some months now. Prior to my switch to Plastic, my teammate and I were using Unity Collab to work on the project together. After switching to Plastic, I made a few changes and checked them into the local repo. Before syncing to cloud, Plastic told me that I should pull incoming changes, which were the 37 changesets we had made using Collab. Pulling caused no changes to my project, as I already had those changes on my computer. After pulling, I have been attempting to sync the most recent changes to the cloud, however I get the following error: "The source branch has two heads. Merge from cs:51fea8e5-3a76-4bbf-b648-070ad2e89a13 to br:/main to unify the heads". I understand why it is giving me this issue, however I am not sure what to do. Under branch explorer, there is only a single branch. When i look at changesets, It goes 1, 2, then jumps to 40, which is the most recent change. I have no clue to where to locate cs:51fea8e5-3a76-4bbf-b648-070ad2e89a13 in order to perform the merge. I have tried merging all of the visible changes sets and all of the bubbles shown in the branch explorer, however it always tells me the the files are already there and there is nothing to merge. I have some similar posts to my situation, however I have not been able to solve my issue by looking through them. I am still very new to working with Plastic, and I would really appreciate some help to get my project back on track.
  5. Hi! I'm currently at working hour and I find my project which connected with Plastic somehow stuck at OnGUI.Repaint. I have waited for about 10 minutes loading this and it's unfinish. Instead, force close the Unity Project and then reopen it again without internet being connected. It works and I can work on my project. Is the Plastic SCM server currently down? It's annoying because Plastic SCM depends on internet connection and cannot work in offline mode. Best Regard, Joen
  6. Dear Plastic SCM Community Member, Are you interested in helping Unity improve its merging and collaboration tools? We are recruiting participants for a 1-hour usability study between September 9 - 15. We are looking for participants who have experience working in Unity as a part of a team. If you are interested in participating, please take this quick survey to see how you meet our target audience. We are excited to hear your valuable feedback. Thanks! https://unitysoftware.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6uvDDpWU8F1o6Md Thank you, Alyssa from the Unity UX Team
  7. Hello, I am trying to automate deleting workspaces by calling commend line code though python. But I'm running into an issue of when i try to delete an active workspace it throws errors, and i have to close and open plastic multiple times to make it reset. Is there a way to simply make a workspace active? I know i can switch my workspace to a branch or changeset but i don't see anything about making it active or not. There was a similar question to this one in the forum but the answer didn't give any info about actually switching the workspace.
  8. Hi Everyone, In my company, we are on a process to slowly migrate from ClearCase to Plastic SCM. They have devised a lot of methods to work with ClearCase over the years, and I am currently trying to "migrate" a specific procedure from CC to Plastic. What we do in CC: 1- We have a common view, let's call it common_view. It has its config spec set to retrieve the correct version of some files using a specific label. 2- Every user has a bat file on their startup configuration (we are using windows) 3- This batch file: Starts common_view from CC server using cleartool (and maps it to X:\common_view\ ) Copies (overwrites certain files (mostly perl scripts and batch files) from the CC view to a specific location (in AppData folder of the user) I would like to do this with plastic. We have already created a repo & workspace with the necessary files and applied the required label to the correct versions of the files. What I need is to download those files to a specific local path (that can be accessed via a script, on all of the users' computers) using a command line interface (I believe cm is the cleartool of Plastic, so to speak). How can I achieve this? Thank you very much for your help in advance.
  9. Hi, everyone, After I download the latest version of PlasticSCM 7.0 and try to install on machine with .exe package. It failed with the message:" Installer initialization failed, Installer initialization failed, the installer will now exit". My current OS is Windows Server 2016 standard. Does it lie in the version i downloaded not compatible to OS version? What else softwares supposed to be installed first or environment should be configured before the installation? Could anyone please tell me, what should i do to fix it? Thanks a lot!!!
  10. Hi, all When I built Bamboo(version 6.7.1) plan with plastic SCM(5.4.16.798). At the beginning, everything works fine when first link SCM to Bamboo and build. Then I made new changesets(2) in SCM and tried to rebuild in Bamboo, error appeared "Plan could not be started. Exception: Changes from 2@*@localhost:8087 to its parent couldn't be retrieved: Error: Input String was not in a correct format." Then I add new changesets(3)(which only add a new line in text file, which should not affect the build progress) in SCM and rebuild, the same issue appears. The error log is below(the changeset number is not consistent, but it does not matter cause the same issue): Could anyone please to tell me, what should I do to solve this? 11. I was hoping to run plastic and gluon in a mixed environment. Where users would use gluon for day to day needs and then use plastic when extra functionality was needed. But the two applications use different workspace formats. This makes it less seamless to switch between one and the other. Is using a common workspace format something that is in the roadmap?
