  1. Hi, I am looking at breaking up an existing project in to a couple of repositories so that we can make use of xlinks to share code between the original project repo and a repo for a new project. Whilst looking in to this I came across some issues that I have not been able to resolve and was hoping someone could provide some help. Our team has a mix of people creating their repos in a centralised way with @cactus@cloud and others that set up a local repository and use a sync view to push/pull to the repo in the cloud. For the new setup I have broken up functionality in to a couple of new repositories, "Tech" and "Tools" which contains common cross-project functionality. In the original project repository (in my local repository) I created an xlink to the new Tech repository as follows: cm xlink -w Source/Tech / cs:1@Tech@cactus@cloud I have committed and pushed those changes to the cloud repo. I have a second workspace for this project that is setup to track the cloud repo directly. In that workspace I am able to update the workspace as normal and i can see that the Source/Tech folder is populated with the contents as in changeset 1 of the new repo as expected. However in my other workspace which is set up as a local repo tracking the cloud repo that Source/Tech folder is empty. According to your documentation here you should update the workspace by clocking "update woekspace" in the GUI but as far as I'm aware this button is not available when creating local repos and updating via a sync view. I came across another forum post here which seems to be discussing something similar but in their case their xlink appears to be to a local repo whereas I want to set up my xlink to the cloud repo. Do I still need to adjust my sync view or create a new sync view to get this working? What is the process for syncing with an xlink at a cloud repo on a workspace for a local repository or is this not supported? Thanks Tom
  2. Hi there, I'm using the cloud plan for my private projects in Unity for some time now. After being stuck with Git for a while at work, I was moved to a project, which uses Plastic SCM as well. Now I need to access both from one client, as there seems to be no way to install them side by side. In the enterprise client, I log in and can work without any problems, so far so good. Creating a fresh repository in the cloud works as well as one step commit/update, but I don't have the local server features with push and pull I used to have. Accessing the old sync views, it reports me, that the repositories are not available there. Further, the local server tells me, it would be a test license only, which expires soon, as well it listened by default on 8087 instead of 8084 as before. Am I missing something here beyond my understanding of the system or is this use case not expected by Plastic SCM? I really would like to continue to work with the two step approach in my private projects, as sometimes the internet connection here is a bit unreliable at the hours I can work on them.
  3. Hi, I am getting the following error when try to sync two servers both servers using Jet database 2019-08-21 10:44:23,735 User-PC ERROR Operations - OnError catching exception [The given key was not present in the dictionary.] - Plastic server version: 8.0.16.3480 2019-08-21 10:44:23,736 ERROR PlasticProto.ConnectionFromClient - conn 3. Error in ProcessMethodCall for method GetReplicationSyncStatus. There has been an unexpected error "The given key was not present in the dictionary.". For more information check the server log. the issue started when I was trying to checkin my changes in new branch then my PC freezes and I had to restart, after that the newly created changeset was gone and I started to face this issue Now I can create branches and changeset, but I will not be able to sync the servers I opened rep_4/branches/names.dat and found the branch's name which cause the issue, but I cannot find this branch in Branches tab or in Branch Explorer tab. Is there any thing I can do to solve this issue?
  4. Hi, I have read some of the documentations and watch some tutorials. After some days of test, I have 2 questions : First, I don't understand the use of the sync view for plastic SCM Cloud edition. Here is how I work with my dev team : 1) We create a repo on the cloud server 2) Then we create directly a workspace from the new repo on our pc (from the Cloud Tab) 3) During development, we only use checkin (in Pending Changes) to push changes and update workspace (in Workspace Explorer) Currently, we don't have an issue with this workflow. All the data are correctly shared across PCs (files, changesets) So I guess my data are on the cloud. Is it correct ? But what about the sync view, I have some changes (outgoing & incomming) to do. Why do I see these changes ? I thought one use of the sync view is to sync my local workspace with the repo on Cloud. But the checkin button seems already to do it. Have I done something wrong ? or is it normal ? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My second question is about the Cloud server encryption For the first checkin or update on a repo on the cloud. I need to create and confirm a password for the encryption. But I don't understand why the others devs need to create and confirm a password for the same repo at their first connection with the cloud. I though they are only able to enter a password and not create it because I have already done on my pc. Is the encryption password for the repo only local and isn't share on the cloud ? Thank you for the help !
