Guest
Hi there! I've just installed plastic on my network server. It seemed to work. Now I'm trying to connect from a recently installed client but it says it can't reach the server. Ideas? Thanks Bernard
dave
If the plastic service is running ont the server, this is usually caused by a network problem. Check that the server machine is not firewalling the 8084 port, where plastic listens by default, and also that you can reach the server specified on the client (with ping, for instance) You can try "telnet server 8084" and see if it can connect from the client machine. If you can't, then check firewall on server and name/ip configuration of the network. Hope it helps
Guest
Hi again Dave, Well it seems the server is listening, but the client still can't access it... Bernard
danipen
Hi Bernard Is your client correctly configured? You can try to launch client configuration wizard executing 'plastic --configure' (graphical mode) or 'configureclient' (text mode). In section server, you must write your server name or IP and your server port. Regards
