rthompson
Hi there, I'm trying to do a very simple merge from a dev branch into my main branch and I cannot make this happen. I've tried via the GUI & the CLI, both result in a simple: Error: Name has invalid chars It spits out a bunch of info using the merge command, but terminates with the above error with no further information. I've tried to use --forced, --verbose, etc and none seem to make a difference. Has anyone encountered this before? I really don't want to go back to managing my project with git... manu
Hello, how many changesets the source branch is having? Can you try to merge from the previous to head changeset ? Can you try to find the item with "invalid" chars?
rthompson
I was able to merge with zero issues from a windows install of Plastic which leads me to believe it is some sort of bug with the OSX version. Unfortunately there were no other errors that led me to the file it was upset about.
manu
Ummmm, interesting. We can always repeat a Plastic SCM merging using an auxiliary branch created from the destination changeset. If you have time for us (20-30) min we can get connected and try to understand what was going wrong.
