mc
hi, i'm looking for the best/easiest way to backup/restore plastic reps/workspaces. the thread linked to at the bottom of this post shows an easy script used to backup using firebird. i'm using an sql express backend, and there are two file types associated with the reps/workspaces from referencing them in the server management studio: .log and .plastic. i'm assuming i would follow the same format as the script in the link below, but copy both those filetypes? during restore on a new installation, do i just copy those files back into the server folder and away i go? thanks, mc http://www.plasticscm.net/forum193/default.aspx?g=posts&t=
dave
Hi, SQL Server has its own backup mechanism, we recommend that you use that. You'll need to backup the repositories and rep_* databases. In the SQL Server Management Studio, right click on the database and select tasks/backup database. And you can google for automated/scripted backup solutions for sql server express. Cheers!
