FredM
Hello, Using Admin tool from v4.2.39.458 (Windows) I was hoping to migrate to a MySQL storage backend, located on *another* machine. But the admin tool only wants to connect to the IP of the localhost on which plastic scm server is running. Since I have already filed an issue relating to installing a v4.2 server on Linux I find myself in the situation where the plastic server runs on a windows pc and should connect to a mysql server runing on a linux box. Is this possible ? If not the IP address text box in the Admin tool is misleading. Thanx Fred
manu
Hello Fred, can you please some screenshots? When I run the merge tool I'm able to select, for example, MySQL as the target database and I can choose the server name or IP. Look :
FredM
Hi Manu, Please disregard this issue : it's my mistakes; thanks for your answer anyway. The user I had created in mysql was misconfigured [ a) some confusion between CREATE USER and the GRANT commands; and the privileges were incorrectly scoped to a single DB instead of *.* ] Damnn it ! Suggestion, if posssible may be display a hint message in the bottom of the error box as : "Verify that user/password has access from this IP address and that privileges are set to *.*"
manu
Ok! No problem. Regarding the message, maybe we can include the reminder in the User guide.
