upgrade server version

Recommended Posts

Hello Support team,

We(my company - Gilat Satellite) are using plasticscm 5.4.16.688 server(DB -sqlite) which run on a linux server(ubuntu 12.04), we want to upgrade linux and plasticscm version to ubuntu 16.04 server and plastic latest stable version which his DB is the Jet DB.

i have some questions which i did not found an obvious answer anywhere:

1) can i put the server on a 'readonly' mode or i have to turn off the server in order to get the backup files and upgrade?

2)which exact files do i have to backup and restore to the new server?

Thanks.

Remember you can use the new webadmin to migrate the backend! You should notice a great performance improvement!!

Check this for further info: http://blog.plasticscm.com/2017/10/webadmin-introducing-new-server-admin.html

Yes, you can do it like this: https://www.plasticscm.com/documentation/administration/plastic-scm-version-control-administrator-guide#HowtobackupandrestoretheJetbackend

Basically every single file and directory at the Jet database directory.

You have a backup script available here: https://www.plasticscm.com/documentation/administration/plastic-scm-version-control-administrator-guide#Backup-Restore-Jet-backend-Tools-Example-rdiff-hot-backup
