Sundae2608
I recently created a PlasticSCM account and I am in the step of creating a new distributed Plastic Cloud repository. I prefer this since I am more familiar with Git way. However, whenever I tried to create it, I encounter the following errors No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8084 When I try to go into PlasticSCM window, it always shows the following warning message saying "Cannot connect to the Plastic SCM server". How should I proceed here? Thank you.
Héber
Hi, That error means that the client is not able to reach the local server. Keep in mind that to allow you to work on a distributed way, Plastic installs a localm server in your machine. Can you check that the PlasticSCM service is up and running in the Windoes services panel? Best, Héber.
Jeremy
FWIW, I got this same message when setting up a Jenkins build server w/PlasticSCM plugin on a GCP Windows Server 2019 vm, to run Plastic Cloud edition. On the same instance, running the PlasticSCM GUI gave me an "Unable to connect to PlasticSCM" error, even though the Preferences->check credentials worked correctly. Based on Héber's response above, I looked for the PlasticSCM service in the task manager, and found that "Plastic SCM server" and "Plastic Change Tracker" services were listed as Stopped. Once i started them, both the GUI and build errors went away :). I thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else runs into similar problems. FYI: this is how the Jenkins log reported the initial error: Running as SYSTEM Building in workspace C:\Program Files (x86)\Jenkins\workspace\my-unity [root] $ cm workspace list --format={wkname}#{path}#{wkid} my-unity#c:\Users\admin\wkspaces\my-unity#19ed8bdf-02e2-4084-8f71-0383e703d558 [root] $ cm workspace create jenkins_519ee701354b49b7b92ba7aff5d99d3a "C:\Program Files (x86)\Jenkins\workspace\my-unity\root" "--selector=C:\Program Files (x86)\Jenkins\workspace\my-unity\root\selector5933500470485475368.txt" Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:8084

bennetcole
This exception message says you're trying to connect to the same host ( 127.0.0.1 ), while you're stating that your server is running on a different host. This 127.0.0.1 represents a 'loopback' . It allows the computer to communicate with itself via network protocol . Dns.GetHostEntry(IPAddress.Loopback).HostName returns the host name of your machine. When you pass a host name to TcpClient , it will resolve it to one or more IP addresses using Dns.GetHostAddresses(hostName) . This includes the public and local IP addresses of your machine (e.g. 192.168.12.10), but not 127.0.0.1 (loopback address). So your client is trying to connect to any of the non-loopback addresses of your machine, while your server is listening only on the loopback address . So, no connection can be established. The solution to this problem is that connect to the same end point your server is listening on.
Hadmaerd
I got the same error after I updated from 9-something version to 10.0.16.6559. First time I installed "above" and did let it to make everything auto. Second time I uninstalled existing version, then restarted pc, then installed new version 10.0.16.6559, but it did not make any difference. If I install back 9.0.16.4587 - error disappears. In all cases services are up and running (last column states "running"). Restart of services doesn't help. When I uninstall plastic these services disappear and then reapper with new installation. C:\Users\Hadmaerd>cm version 10.0.16.6559 C:\Users\Hadmaerd>cm lrep localhost:8084 Error: Подключение не установлено, т.к. конечный компьютер отверг запрос на подключение. [::ffff:127.0.0.1]:8084 "Connection wasn't established because endpoint pc refused connection request" Same in Plastic SCM client application

Thanks for your response Carlos, The network.conf file just contains an array with an object and the attribute "port" set to 8087: [ { "port": 8087 } ] I've also attached the logs into this message. calbzam
Hi, It seems you installed at some point Plastic Enterprise installer on this machine (instead of Plastic Cloud edition). Let's try the following: - Delete the following two files: C:\Program Files\PlasticSCM5\server\network.conf C:\Program Files\PlasticSCM5\server\plasticd.lic - Download and reinstall Plastic Cloud edition from www.plasticscm.com --> Downloads. Regards, Carlos.
