Xlinks, change of servername and port doesn't seem to work anymore

Hi,

I have been testing to share libraries using Xlinks, and I was extra interested in the possibility to move the source repository to a new server and update the server and port the xlink pointed to.

But after the update to v5.4.16.634 I can't change the server name or port anymore.

When I for example use the command ...

     cm xlink -e -w XlinkName / 287@Repository@MyNewServer:9090

... I get the error "Can't edit the xlink target repository (changes in the name, server or relative server are not allowed)"

I have verified the command with the version "v5.0.44.629" where the command still works.

So how is it supposed to work from now on ?

Hi Patrik,

you are right, we changed it a long long time ago in Plastic SCM 5.4, basically because you can end up in merge conflicts that are not supported, for example merging a branch that has the xlink targeting to another server/port, that is not supported.

You will need to delete the xlink and create a new one.
