Matt@rigminder.com Posted December 5, 2011 Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 Hi Everyone, I've downloaded and installed the community edition (4.0) to test and see if it's something that would fit within our company. I'm currently having problems setting it up on a Windows 2008 Server. It installed fine but the service doesn't start automatically. When I manually start the service, I get a generic windows error message that says the service was started but stopped right afterwords. Any idea as to what I'm doing wrong? manu Posted December 5, 2011 Report Share Posted December 5, 2011 Hi Matt, It can be a security-permissions issue, let's try if the server can start in the console mode. To do it, start a command line windows with administrator permissions, then change your directory to the PlasticSCM server installation path. Try to run the following: "plasticd.exe --console" This should start the server and it will be up and running as long as the console window is open. You post here the command output and also the last lines of the server log file, it's called plastic.server.log and you will find it on the PlasticSCM server installation path.
