User Translation File

Recommended Posts

Ok, so this only affects replication packages, and not general use? For example, I do work both at home and in my office. At home my computer is not on the active directory, so I sync with my work computer. Then I sync that with our "central repository". But some of the changes appear to come from a different user (my home user), I'd like to have a translation file that translates both into my active directory user (for auditing purposes). Is that possible?

Yep,

using the translation users file:

As you can see in the image there is a file translation.txt that holds the translations, for example:

spiderman; Peter Parker

With this entry if you have your personal server with UP and your user is "spiderman" when you try to replicate to the central one, in AD, your name will be "Peter Parker". Very useful if you are a superhero coder and you want to preserve your identity.

You can use it in all the kinds of replicas.

Haha, I see you are a Spidey fan in addition to liking Star Wars. Thank you for the morning laugh manu! :lol:

Not only when you are working with replication packages, you can use it also with a regular replica. Check it out, inside the "Advanced options..." button:
