Keeping track of 1 folder

I'm doing a scripting course and would like to keep track of my scripting folders and only the scripting folders. 

Every chapter of the course imports a bunch of assets that I am not interested in, even though I do change and move them.

How do I keep track of just the scripting folders?

You can just add to the ignore.conf file the rest of the folders or any files that you do not want on the source control.

That will just add to source control the scripting folders. Please take a look at the documentation and guide for the ignore.conf file.
