Samba4 Active Directory Authentication

This might sound like an odd configuration, but I'm wondering if anyone has been successful getting Plastic server running on Linux and using Active Directory for authentication against a Samba4 Active Directory server.  Here's my setup:

• server runs Ubuntu Linux and is the Active Directory domain controller through Samba.
• Windows workstations and also a Macbook here and there that need to authenticate against the server
• Windows login is working fine so I'm pretty sure my Samba AD setup is functioning.

I tried a few configurations for the server but the closest I got resulted in the attached message.  It looks like AD on Linux assigns some kind of weird user ids that it uses to authenticate?

 

Any ideas?
