Oscar
Hi, It seems that I can change the file type of a file (bin <--> txt) without checking-out and checking-in operation. Does the type changing apply to my workspace file only or apply to the file on the server? Thanks, -Oscar
psantosl
Hi Oscar, The change file type operation is applied at the item level: means it affects all revisions of the file, and hence it is done at the server level. Oscar
Hi, Pablo, When doing a rebase or merge, how does Plastic handle the situation that the source type is different from the destination type? Will Plastic do text merging for a text file if regarded as bin type? Thanks, -Oscar
psantosl
That's a good question! Actually I'd have to check since it shouldn't be a common scenario. Normally only a weird situation would end up having contributors with different types (it is doable, but not a expected scenario). I think it is going to take the "destination type", although, as I said, I'd have to double check since this is not a common scenario.
