srs
Hi. How can I integrate Plastic with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)? I had assumed it would just happen like it does for Visual Studio, because I thought they used the same plug-ins. But when I go to Tools | Source Control | Plug-In Selection in SSMS, Plastic does not appear in the list. Thanks in advance. Stephen
miller
Hi Stephen, We officially don't support SQL management tools with Plastic, however, you need to install the SCC plugin and you will see Plastic SCC plugin which is a standard SCC API. Give it a try, I never tried it, and maybe you can share with us how it is working for you. Of course for Visual studio newer than 2003 you would use the full Plastic plugin package. See screen-dump cheers, miller
srs
Thanks, Miller. I didn't notice the SCC Plug-in during the install. Seems to work so far. Thanks again. Regards, Stephen
psantosl
It would be extremely helpful if you could post about your experience integrating through SCC... I bet lots of Plastic users out there will find it useful! pablo
srs
There isn't really much to say. Once it is installed and configured as Miller indicated (which is exactly the same as Visual Studio), it is just like using Plastic within Visual Studio.
