Sorry for not letting you know in the first place! Please email support@plasticscm.com.

Hi @Klaus F.,
Unfortunately, the Legacy GUI will eventually be completely removed and is being phased out (as the name suggests). Is there functionality missing from the new GUI which is forcing you to use the legacy GUI?
If you need to have the legacy GUI persist, the only workaround for this would be to revert to a version where this behaviour does not occur.
Hope this helps!

Got it! Thanks for confirming.
Leave it with me, I'll share it with the GUI team. They promised me feature parity between the old and new GUIs and I love an excuse to bring up that promise!
Happy holidays!

Hi @Tilman,
Firstly, you are not a "frustrated idiot", these are totally valid pain-points and I really appreciate you taking the time to present them to us.
Regarding permissions, you hit the nail on the head when you mention that permissions are complex but need to be to cover all eventualities, thats exactly right. Improving the UX around permissions is something that is on our radar and I will share your frustrations with the team. We want to make permissions easy and accessible for all, but also keep the granularity required for the more complex use cases.
Regarding the differences/similarities with Perforce that you have reported are mis-represented in marketing, hoodwinking people is NOT what we are about and so I kindly ask that you share with me specific links to marketing materials and forum posts that have let you down in this respect. Any ammunition you can provide for me to fight for change would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @Novack, thanks for asking.
Can you be a little more specific to help me understand? Do you mean which view opens when you open the client (e.g. Workspace Explorer, Pending Changes, Branch Explorer, etc.)? Is this a feature that is missing from the old GUI?

Teams seats are legacy and not required. The only requirement for accessing a Plastic SCM repository is being added to the Plastic SCM Organization, and being granted the correct level of permissions to do so.
Can an admin check that you have the correct level of permissions? If you review the repositories either in full Plastic SCM client or the WebUI at plasticscm.com are you able to see the repositories?
Hope this helps!

Seems odd! Would love the chance to troubleshoot this further with you. Please log a support ticket and we will gladly look into it.

Hey @ben,
This has been on my ever-growing todo list for quite some time. I will look into this early in the new year. Sorry for the silence!

Apologies for the delay in response. Missed this one somehow! Appreciate the feedback as always.
Are you just requesting that we display when only the line endings change in a more user-friendly manner? If so, do you have any suggestions about how you would like to see this implemented? Or are you suggesting that "Undo unchanged" would also undo files where only the line-endings have changed? (This seems counter-intuitive and may effect other users who would not want this behaviour)

Hey @Wolfram,
Still on my list of priority items to raise with the Product Management team. I have not forgotten about you!- 1

Like I stated before the term "private" is given to a file that exists on the local machine and is not yet controlled by source control. Once you check-in a "private" item, then this file is no longer "private", it is "controlled". The statement you have given does not sound correct to me, there is no combination of "private" and "checked-in" that I am aware of.
If you have checked in a file and it is not appearing for your colleagues I would look into where exactly you checked in that file. It might be that your workspace is pointing to a local repository rather than the repository shared with your colleagues.
Hope this helps!

Hmmmm... I would need to see logs after reproducing the issue to be sure of whats going on.
If you are still having issues, can you please log a support ticket sharing the client debug logs and we will be happy to investigate this for you.
-
Can you please confirm the version of the Version Control package you have installed via Package Manager, and update to the latest if you are not already on the latest to confirm if that alleviates the issue?
Hope this helps!
-
Hey Mark,
Please respond back to your support ticket. I suspect that Plastic SCM is the one reporting that the files are missing but Unity is the culprit for the change occurring. If you are able to consistently reproduce this, I would love to get connected with you on a Zoom call to troubleshoot further.
-
Hey Michael,
Can you please give me a reproduction example so that I can test this out for myself and suggest a solution?

Hey Ben,
Thanks for your feedback. I agree that we could improve changelist support with automation of the check-in comment. I'll pass this along to the team.
QuoteAlso it's not clear right now if I have multiple changelists selected and hit "Checkin" do they all become separate checkins but with the same comment?
All changelists will be checked in together into one changeset.
Hope this helps.

Hey Dan,
This can be achieved by configuring a serveralias.conf file in your Client configuration folder.
Hope this helps!

Sorry for the delay in response.
Can you please provide a little more context about why you want this granularity with meta files?
-
Well this seems like a bug. Can you please confirm that you are on the latest version?
If you are, please can you log this as a support ticket (support@plasticscm.com) sharing the latest plastic.debug.log file from ~/.plastic4/logs/?

Hey @Wolfram,
Surprisingly (Sarcastic tone), you are not the first to request this. I totally agree that this is just unnecessary messaging. I will raise this with the team.

Hi @ben, Sorry for not being clearer.
This fix was introduced in 11.0.16.7388QuoteAll platforms - PlasticX: Restore a in-progress merge on restart
Now when Plastic is restarted, if there are pending links, the in progress merge is restored. In this case, the Merge tab will be available from the startup and the loaded merge will be the last in-progress merge before the app is closed.
Setting for default view on start?
