  1. Hi @Klaus F.,

Unfortunately, the Legacy GUI will eventually be completely removed and is being phased out (as the name suggests). Is there functionality missing from the new GUI which is forcing you to use the legacy GUI?

If you need to have the legacy GUI persist, the only workaround for this would be to revert to a version where this behaviour does not occur.

    Hope this helps!

  2. Hi @Tilman,

Firstly, you are not a "frustrated idiot", these are totally valid pain-points and I really appreciate you taking the time to present them to us.

Regarding permissions, you hit the nail on the head when you mention that permissions are complex but need to be to cover all eventualities, thats exactly right. Improving the UX around permissions is something that is on our radar and I will share your frustrations with the team. We want to make permissions easy and accessible for all, but also keep the granularity required for the more complex use cases.

Regarding the differences/similarities with Perforce that you have reported are mis-represented in marketing, hoodwinking people is NOT what we are about and so I kindly ask that you share with me specific links to marketing materials and forum posts that have let you down in this respect. Any ammunition you can provide for me to fight for change would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Teams seats are legacy and not required. The only requirement for accessing a Plastic SCM repository is being added to the Plastic SCM Organization, and being granted the correct level of permissions to do so.

Can an admin check that you have the correct level of permissions? If you review the repositories either in full Plastic SCM client or the WebUI at plasticscm.com are you able to see the repositories?

    Hope this helps!

  4. Apologies for the delay in response. Missed this one somehow! Appreciate the feedback as always.

Are you just requesting that we display when only the line endings change in a more user-friendly manner? If so, do you have any suggestions about how you would like to see this implemented? Or are you suggesting that "Undo unchanged" would also undo files where only the line-endings have changed? (This seems counter-intuitive and may effect other users who would not want this behaviour)

  5. Like I stated before the term "private" is given to a file that exists on the local machine and is not yet controlled by source control. Once you check-in a "private" item, then this file is no longer "private", it is "controlled". The statement you have given does not sound correct to me, there is no combination of "private" and "checked-in" that I am aware of.

If you have checked in a file and it is not appearing for your colleagues I would look into where exactly you checked in that file. It might be that your workspace is pointing to a local repository rather than the repository shared with your colleagues.

    Hope this helps!

  6. Hey Ben,

Thanks for your feedback. I agree that we could improve changelist support with automation of the check-in comment. I'll pass this along to the team.

Also it's not clear right now if I have multiple changelists selected and hit "Checkin" do they all become separate checkins but with the same comment?

All changelists will be checked in together into one changeset.

    Hope this helps.

  7. Hi @ben, Sorry for not being clearer.

This fix was introduced in 11.0.16.7388

All platforms - PlasticX: Restore a in-progress merge on restart

Now when Plastic is restarted, if there are pending links, the in progress merge is restored. In this case, the Merge tab will be available from the startup and the loaded merge will be the last in-progress merge before the app is closed.
