Hi!
By default, Plastic shows only "your" shelves.
In your first screenshot, you changed it to show "All shelves" (from the combobox).
We don't have that combobox in PlasticX, but we have the advanced query system. If you click in the "Advanced" button, you will see the executed query.
In order to show "All shelves" you just have to type "find shelves".
Regarding the usability improvement in the "Show Shelves" button, yeah! totally agree! We will change it!

Regarding the reported bug "It is not possible to close custom view once they are open". You have a close button in the views, is it missing in any?
