Soho
Hi, When using writable xlinks, deleting a changeset in the "mother" repo does not delete the corresponding changeset in child xlinks. For example, I just accidentally merged the wrong branch containing changes in referred xlinks. To unto this, I deleted the changeset, but the changesets in the auto-merged children was not deleted. This caused some confusion and cleanup work. Is this something that will be supported?
manu
I'm going to talk with the team but I'm afraid that it's not going to be supported for the moment.
Soho
Ok, I appreciate it. For me, writable xlinks is a killer feature in Plastic. Something few or none other VCS have similar. This is definitely a feature I would love to see more fully implemented. Currently you have to use it with caution to avoid triggering some strange corner case side effects. manu
It's a complicated feature since the xlinked changeset you want to be deleted can be used at the same by a different changeset even from a third repository. It's not probably to happen in the merge scenario you described but understand that it's dangerous.
