Mountain Lion first install (evaluation) won't launch

Recommended Posts

I'm evaluating Plastic (OSX 10.8.2) - looking to replace Accurev + SVN + Git that I have been using - and can't get beyond step 1.

I extract the initial download to my desktop, then try to launch it. It prompts for a password, then immediately closes.

If I launch it from a command line via open, I get the same symptoms with the following error:

LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Users/(username)/Desktop/PlasticSCM-4.1.10.369-osx-installer.app

Any ideas what to try next?

Thanks,

Pete

It seems that it's an issue with MacOS since I can see that is happening with more applications.

Let's try the solution provided in this forums http://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/14480 and this other: http://code.google.com/p/rest-client/issues/detail?id=153

Can you please try to change the permissions like:

sudo chmod -R a+x /Users/(username)/Desktop/PlasticSCM-4.1.10.369-osx-installer.app

Tell me if it works.
