Brian Judy
Am using Cloud Edition and an unable to check-in changes to my workspace a couple files that have existed for some time. I tried to delete the files and readded them and get the error "Can't add an entry with same name. Duplicated child."
psantosl
Hi Brian, It is because you are trying to add a file with the same name and that another one that already exists on the server in the same directory. Are you using Gluon?
Brian Judy
I have artists using GluOn, and had a 'multiple heads' sync error when I attempted to cherry pick from a main sub-branch. There are also <filename>.private.0 files of those same files, which I may have deleted and I'm reading plastic creates when there is some kind of conflict. Not sure I understand when those are created. I've removed all the change sets back to the cherry pick and it seems to have fixed the multiple heads error and am now able to update the 'duplicate child' files. Thanks for getting back. Brian Judy
This seems resolved, but do you know any documentation on private.0 files?
manu
Those files are created when Plastic needs to download a file revision and it finds there's another file with the same name at the same spot. In order to preserve it, the file is rename to X.private.0. Due to the nature of the issue you had it makes sense you ended up with one.
Brian Judy
Ok, so new files. Then do they get resolved by Plastic? Thanks.
manu
The files are moved by Plastic (from XXXX.x to XXXX.c.private.0) but the user is in charge of reviewing if the content of the private.0 file needs to be preserved or discarded.
