Writable xlink autoupdate

Hi,

We have recently changed to the plastic cloud environment and have since had this issue with checking in changes on a project that contains an xlink. When trying to check in changes, if there are no new changesets on the xlink project than everything works fine. If however there are changes on the xlink project then i can't check in the changes, it jumps to an empty "incoming changes" tab.

The solution seems to be to shelve my changes, first update the xlink to the latest changeset, then go get my changes from the shelve and check those in. However, before the change to the cloud environment this wasnt the case, i could just checkin and the xlink would be updated to the latest changeset. I have already tried to completely remove the xlink and readd it, but to no avail. (all the xlinks are writable btw)

Anybody thats had this problem as well?

Hi,

is the Xlink pointing to the last changeset of the branch? The fact that you are getting an empty incoming changes view makes me think that a merge is needed inside the Xlink repo (and the Incoming Changes view is not designed for that purpose).

You could perform the manual merge inside the XLinked repo (or edit your Xlink to point to the last) before checkin your changes.

Also, temporary disabling the Incoming Changes view in the "C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\plastic4\client.conf"  and restarting the GUI should also help if this is a common scenario in your workflow:

<EnableIncomingChanges>no</EnableIncomingChanges>

Regards,

Carlos.
