Problem after instalation

Hello

I wanted to finally try using Plastic SCM after several months of postponing but I am stuck with situation where I don't see any repositories and can't create new ones (Explicit transaction expected, but found no transaction). 

I tried several things, changing backend, disabling Avast Internet Security, reinstalling Plastic SCM. No luck and I am beginning to be little desperate as I wanted to try it for months. 

 

Any ideas what I should investigate or try to do?

Also, can you post us the "plastic.server.log" file you'll find at the Plastic SCM server directory?

I am using Windows 7 64bit Pro SP1 and latest version of Plastic SCM. But I tried to install Plastic SCM at home and it works perfectly. So I suspect a problem with firewall settings that are managed by our IT administrator at work where I tried to use Plastic SCM at first.

From content I see that I have problem with creation of database. That's something that I don't known why it's happening.

well, the problem is isolated with the database creation. The database files can't be created, a permissions issue maybe?

 

Don't know why it's trying to use the embedded (and failback) firebird database backend. Do you have a "db.conf" file at c:\ProgramFiles\PlasticSCM5\server? Can you post it here?

I have installed it somewhere else (on D: disk instead on C:) and it worked. Probably uninstaller didn't uninstalled some files and these were causing my problem.

It is working now and I use SQLite backend currently. I tried use some interesting functions (GITsync) and I am amazed how different and nice it is.

FYI I saw this exact error with Sync operation from remote server.. I converted from FDB to SqlCE.. rebooted server, and it fixed it.

Hi Diego, yes better use SqlServerCE than Firebird but better than SqlServerCE is SQLite, I would switch to SQLite if your SqlServerCE databases are close to 4GB.

And better than Sqlite will be our own brand new, but not released, Jet backend. Keep tuned!
