Tralen
Greetings, I'm trying to synchronize my repositories folder with a local computer and with a cloud storage service similar to Dropbox, strictly for backup. I've noticed that plastic checks the repositories regularly, perhaps every hour, which prompts both synchronization tools that I use to upload the files again, even though their contents were not identifiably changed. Is there a method for disabling this behaviour? The admin guide states that one should disable the server before even copying the repositories, so I'm uncertain on how to proceed. Thank you. manu
Hi! I'm sorry but can't be disabled. It's safe to backup the databases if nobody is using the server, but it's 100% sure if you stop the server first.
Tralen
Thank you, manu, It is just a personal backup for my local repositories, no one else is connecting to this server. The constant upload is eating my bandwidth, so I think I will just disable the synchronization services and enable them once a day.
manu
You can also consider having a Cloud server to push and pull information, it will serve you as an online backup and a 24/7 available server. https://www.plasticscm.com/cloud/index.html
