swerner
Hi, is it possible to clone a local repository to a centralized server without creating the repository on the server first? Thanks, Sebastian
manu
Are you using PlasticSCM 4.0? There is a migration tool inside the server directory called "admintool.exe" you can use it to migrate the current PlasticSCM databases to a different one. The usage is pretty simple, are looking for something like this? The other option is this "cm mkrep myCentralServer:port myCentralRep" and then replicate your rep to the central one using the Sync view. But this obviously implies the creation of a repository.... You can also copy the databases into the central one if you are using Sqlserver CE, firebird or sqlite.
Pete
I had the same issue/question. Since I'm trying to synch one server to a new one, it seemed odd that I have to create an empty repo on the destination server before I can synch, surely the repo should be created for me automatically if it doesn't exist already ? manu
Hi Pete, that's correct, you need to have an existing target repository in order to accomplish the sync. Maybe we can alert the user like "The target repository doesn't exist, do you want to create it?". If you want you can add the idea into the user voice system.
