esthrim
Hi, I have a question about file permission, How to give permission to users, so that specific file / directory can be checked-in by the user but other files/ directory cannot. is that possible ? When i do in the branch level, it works for all items in directory tree, but cannot partials for specific items, even though i have set the permission for the file / directory. Thanks. esthrim
for example, there are 2 files in the repository.( a.txt, b.txt ) then i set the permission for user x, denied for ci,co, unco operations in the file a.txt permission window in client GUI. but still the user X still can perform checkin for file a.txt. why the permissions not working for specific files. ?? today i tried to install the latest version 4.1.10.345, but still no change about this issue. please, anyone can help..? manu
Sorry esthrim, the items permissions in 4.1, although they are visible, are internally disabled. Please wait to the 4.2 release in order to enjoy the new security system where your case is fully supported and quite easy to implement.

tom.peters
Hey Manu - Does this mean that security will be easier to maintain in 4.2? We, also, need to setup some pretty specific permissions and if 4.2 is anywhere on the horizon I'd rather wait... provided the UI makes it much easier. Is there anything we can read about the upcoming changes? Thanks, Tom
manu
Hi Tom, it will be much easier! If I were you I would wait to the 4.2 release. Unfortunately I'm not able to give you a time span.... (marketing issues... you know....)
