read exe file version

Is it possible to read the .exe version of a file and automatically log that to the changeset label or description for future search?  I would like a way to easier match errors logged in my app to the specific version in code that the user may be running.

Or are you asking a way to get some Plastic metadata information from a file (revision id, changeset number)...

The "cm fileinfo --help" command may be useful. Not sure if I properly understand.

I think he's describing a feature like Microsoft Symbol Server, that stores metadata of every binary generated and can later link it to a given set of binaries.

We don't do that (at least not yet), but it is very easy to embed the cset number (the GUID) to the exe during build 🙂
