Hi,

I followed the steps for installation from,

http://www.plasticscm.com/plastic-for-linux/index.html

when I run,

sudo apt-get install plasticscm-client

it ends with the following error,

Preparing to unpack .../plasticscm-mono3-devel_3.0.3.1-1.1_all.deb ...
Unpacking plasticscm-mono3-devel (3.0.3.1-1.1) ...

Any idea what is going wrong?

Manu,

I am trying to install 5.4. I have put 5.0 and 5.4 in the repository list as the comments here state that 5.0 is also required to install 5.4.

I haven't included the 4.1 repository in the sources.list file.

These are the lines I have added to my /etc/apt/sources.list file,

deb http://www.plasticscm.com/plasticrepo/5.0/Ubuntu_14.04/ ./
deb http://www.plasticscm.com/plasticrepo/5.4/Ubuntu_14.04/ ./

Hi

I have, just in case, installed a clean Ubuntu 14.04 and used the packages to deploy Plastic SCM 5.4, it worked just fine.

So reading (more slowly) your error I can see the following:

trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/mono-api-check', which is also in package mono-devel 3.2.8+dfsg-4ubuntu1

So it seems another mono is installed, the 3.2.8 and you'll have a "/usr/bin/mono-api-check" file that can't be overwritten.

If I try to install a new mono I get exactly the same error:

Unpacking mono-devel (3.2.8+dfsg-4ubuntu1) ...
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/mono-devel_3.2.8+dfsg-4ubuntu1_all.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/mono-api-check', which is also in package plasticscm-mono3-devel 3.0.3.1-1.1

Try removing the 3.28 mono installation and then you will be able to install Plastic.

I'll check if there's a way to allow both mono installations at the same time.
