psantosl
Hi, Yes, for some reason is trying to import "trunk" as if it was a file, when it is a directory. Can you double check the URL of your SVN repo when you set it up on the svn importer?? Also, can you give a try to the svn:// or http:// protocol instead of file:///??? I'll check with the team and come back to you ASAP but any feedback will be welcome. Thanks, pablo
virtualthoughts
I attempted doing an import operation using svn:// and ended up with the same results, both gui and cli.

miller
Hi Virtual, lets make sure you have the absolute latest version of Plastic "as we speak" Please download and install Plastic SCM 3.0.187.16 Try to run the guimporter.exe as administrator attach if possible a screen-dump of the guimporter with the URL you are trying to import from. open a windows console cmd.exe and execute: svn info "the URL you inserted in the guimporter" and execute: svn ls "the URL you inserted in the guimporter" We need to see how you executed the commands and the output of the commands. Feel free to mail us directly with the above information if you don't feel to share it on the forum at "support [at] codicesoftware [dot] com" Regards, Miller

msanda
Sorry to raise old questions. But i am having the exact same problem as the other user. svn cat for some reason is thinking 'trunk' is a file. Because of this i cannot make any progress in importing my test svn repo. psantosl
Hi there! We'll take another look. Are you evaluating 3.0? Why don't you just give a try to 4.0 and use the fast-import (git format)? We're about to release the final version and it is much better than 3.0. pablo
msanda
i am evaluating 3.0 and tried to do an import from svn. but since that has nto work so far. i tried installng 4.0 beta. The problem here is that my svn repo is pretty large. Close to 10 gb. So moving from svn -> git ->plasticscm is just a really long process and a waste of time. If I have to do that i will be better off sticking with git and trying to find out how to fully utilise it in my infrastucture. Granted as of right now plastic scm is the only real alternative for me but this import is just a very time consuming thing.. Will there be a way to import from svn to plasticsm 4.0 with out the git step.
manu
Hi msanda, PlasticSCM 3.0 importers are not compatible with PlasticSCM 4.0. If you want to use the svn importer you have to use PlasticSCM 3.0 too. But, if you are using PlasticSCM 4.0 you can use the fast-import functionality. So, you just need to perform a fast-export from your SVN repository and then a fast-import to PlasticSCM 4.0. You don't have to re-export the repository from Git, Only svn fast-export and then plastic fast-import. This is the fastest and safer way to achieve the import. Regards, manu.
