Installing a second instance of plastic scm on the same server

Recommended Posts

Hello am trying to install another instance of the server in the same machine.

i tried following this blog http://blog.plasticscm.com/2010/12/setting-up-two-plastic-scm.html

All steps were folowing properly but when i run the 5th step i get the below msg in cmd:

The PlasticServer2 service is starting.
The PlasticServer2 service could not be started

The service did not report an error.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3534.

I also tried starting the service from the Services window in admin mode but that dint work either.

I think the problem is it is still trying to run on the Server1 port. Anyway for me to confirm the port has changed?

thanks

Hi!

did you follow the second step?

You need to reconfigure the repository server process to listen on a different IP port (say, 8085). In the server2 directory, run the configureserver program to make this change.

You can double check it's correctly configured by opening the "remoting.conf" files, make sure you are using different ports for both the TCP and SSL channels.

You can also check the server in console mode first, it's easier to debug and test if everything is ok.

In order to do it just execute "plasticd.exe --console"

You can check the Plastic SCM log files in order to see if something is going wrong.
