peteredge55
I'm getting a 'User unknown' error trying to start the Plastic Client from a networked computer. It keeps telling me the same user is unknown regardless of what username I put in to the login form. However, starting the client on the server machine has no problems! I'm using Plastic's Username/Password authentication method I've tried uninstalling both the client and server and reinstalling but its not making any difference can anyone help? calbzam
Hello, Can you try to ping server machine from your networked machine? Wich OS are your using in the networked computer? If it´s Linux/MAC try to configure client (plastic --configure) as superuser (sudo) Best regards, Carlos
peteredge55
Thanks Carlos, The server and networked machine can see each other on the network. the workstation is Windows 7 and the server is Windows 2008 R2. It's worth mentioning that the server recently had to be rebuilt due to a HD crash and the repositories were lost, but the client still has existing workspaces. manu
Hi Peter, I think it will be faster to schedule a fast online meeting and review the issue. Can you tell us your time zone and where are you available to have the meeting? Note: Meanwhile check if you have the following file and remove it: "C:\Users\Manuel\AppData\Local\plastic4\profiles.conf" or "C:\Program Files\PlasticSCM4\client\profiles.conf". Test the connection after removing it. You can check the connection by issuing the following command: "cm lrep serverIPorName:port"
