Luke Hedditch
Hi I've just installed plastic scm for windows client with "IntelliJ IDEA plugin" as per instructions to work with Rider. The Rider IDE has now become very laggy, and basically unusable, as per comments here https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RIDER-54439. I'm wondering is there any resolution/work-around for this issue? Thanks.
ollieblanks
Hey @Luke Hedditch, Thanks for reaching out to us. This is unfortunately a known issue that we are currently investigating as a high priority. There isn't a currently known workaround at this time, but the plugin can be disabled in Rider by doing the following: Navigate to File > Settings > Plugins in Rider. Find the Plastic SCM Integration plugin within the list of plugins and uncheck the checkbox. Click Save to save changes, a restart of Rider will be required. I will make sure to keep you updated of progress of a fix.

This happens when I editing specific files, and I found these files(changes) are from shelve. I have tried everything, but the freeze was only solved when I reverted the changes from shelve. You can find hint also in below link (comment from Rafał Polito) https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/RIDER-54439 I have checked rider.log file and found something. https://jygames-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/wjeong_jygames_co_kr/EX_ov5q9yZlGqCLWnpZqog8BFB6SbzQ1TXhBgTZ5nY8hpQ?e=ovklMW FishWorldBase.cs Fish.cs Path.cs All these 3 files were causing rider to freeze, and they were all from shelve. You can find repeating 'Can't get annotations from VCS' warnings, and 'UI was frozen' over 30 seconds for these files. Would you check this please? ollieblanks
Hi @woondal, We added a fix for this issue back in 9.0.16.5140. But it seems that this behaviour you report with applied shelves was not addressed. I have reproduced this behaviour in our labs and will investigate further. Thank you for reporting it!
