'Checking in files...' progress box stuck

Hi,

 

 

I'm trying to check in changes following a merge from an integration branch back into my main branch.  When I click 'Checkin' the progress popup with the title 'Checking in files...' appears and displays the text 'Block uploading 0 files' and 'Total progress 0 bytes of 0 bytes' and it just sits there (see attached).  The progress bar flickers but does not increment and in the end I give up and have to 'end task' to get out of it (I've waited at least 10 minutes for something to happen).

 

I have a feeling the problem is caused by the number of changes being applied (710 changed items, 27 deleted and 10 moved).

 

Is there anything I can look at to try and work out what the problem is? Some kind of log perhaps?

 

This was happening on on Plastic 5.4.16.651 so I upgraded to 5.4.16.707 and the problem is still there.

Hello Lukeb,

 

can you try it using the command line? "cm ci" will do it.

 

Before running the operation please enable the "cm.log.con" file: https://www.plasticscm.com/documentation/technical-articles/kb-enabling-logging-for-plastic-scm-part-i.html

 

So we can use that information to debug the issue.

 

The server log file "plastic.server.log" will be also useful.

Thanks for the reply.  I have tried using 'cm ci' with logging switched on but it still hangs.  I have emailed the logs to support@codicesoftware.com

I've just realised that the problem was caused by a 'before-checkin' trigger that was going wrong on the branch in question. I removed the trigger and the check in then worked.
