Ulimo
Hi! I recently downloaded plastic scm, we liked to have TFS setup for our team and now with the TFS 2013 release it allowed git use which where perfect for us. But I am still intrested in plastic scm since it seems to have a great interface etc. I have been trying to sync the client to the TFS git server though with no luck. When I sync with the git client I simply have to put in this url: "http://<domain>:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection/_git/<name>" and it syncs. When I try this with plastic scm though I get the error message: The credentials introduced for the repository are not valid. Which seems strange since it worked in the git scm client. So what am I doing wrong? also tryied it from the command line which also gave the same error. Hope I can get some help to solve this out! Thanks! calbzam
Hi, Yes, you can use Plastic SCM to sync with TFS. But you need to use the command line. Please, check here and example of how TFS sync works and a sample command: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16576313/using-plasticscm-or-any-dvcs-client-to-connect-to-tfs/16589120#16589120 Regards, Carlos
Ulimo
Thanks! So this is for TFS git? I thought it was about the TFVC.
calbzam
Hi, The post I linked above is about sync a Plastic repository is about syncing Plastic and TFS repositories ( not TFS git) If you want to use TFS git (actually is a git server) you should be able to use GitSync feature. We have found recently an issue using "http" protocol and GitSync and I think that is the same case as you. If you could use "https" protocol, it should work fine. Ulimo
Hi again! I have now tryied to sync the TFS git server using the https protocol with the same result Still getting the same error message, I tryied to sync using for example SourceTree and it syncs with no issues. Is there any other way to get more information, in a log file for example? Thanks!
manu
Hi Ulimo, we have just fixed an issue with a Gerrit server using the http protocol with authentication. The new protocol supported is "Digest Authentication" We'll try to ship the change to the public release asap. Meanwhile is it possible for you to use https? Ulimo
Sorry no, https give me the exact same error that http. I am using active directory authentication on the TFS server, that might be an issue?
manu
It could be. That kind of TFS - Git server is not testes/supported.
nqramjets
Did you ever get this working? I'm having the same issue, using v5.0.44.534. Is there any work-around to using active directory on the TFS server?
